Background checks on companies, promoters and directors

Before you invest in, lend to, acquire or sign with a business, Sapiensu checks its background and the background of the people who run it, across India's corporate, court and regulatory records.

Sapiensu checks businesses and the people who own and run them. It is not an employee or candidate screening service.

    Checking the company

A company background check establishes what the business is and what it carries with it.

    Registration
Incorporation, status, registered office and its history, and whether filings are up to date.
    Ownership
Shareholders, beneficial owners and the group of related entities.
    Charges
Registered charges and the lenders behind them.
    Proceedings
Litigation and insolvency involving the company.
    Regulators
    Orders and penalties against it.
    Press
What has been reported, and whether the record supports it.

    Checking the promoters and directors

In India the people often matter more than the entity. A director's identification number ties them to every company they have sat on, so a check can follow them across their record: the other boards they sit on, the companies they left behind and how those ended, whether they have been disqualified, and the proceedings, regulatory orders and press that name them.

Promoters and their families frequently hold interests through several entities. A background check maps those links so that a related party is not mistaken for an independent one.

    Not just a database lookup

A lookup returns records. A background check worth acting on connects them and says what they mean: that the new director is the same person who sat on a company now in insolvency, or that two suppliers share an address and an owner.

Sapiensu returns each finding with its sources, a confidence level, and what it means for your decision.
